Todd Smith

Todd Smith is CEO of QoreAI and an automotive AI keynote speaker with 36 years of retail and technology experience. His work centers on one problem: helping dealerships turn the data they already have into decisions they can act on. In the past year alone, he has worked with more than 200 dealership groups.

QoreAI builds the intelligence infrastructure for modern dealerships. The platform brings data from the DMS, CRM, inventory, website activity and other systems into one place, so dealers can see what is happening across sales, service and marketing and act on it.

Todd's path into technology started on the showroom floor. In 2000, he was part of the team that brought the industry its first web-based CRM. The idea for ActivEngage was born in his Chevrolet dealership, and after the dealership was sold he co-founded the company in 2007. ActivEngage built the first managed live chat solution for dealerships and became the largest managed chat provider in automotive. It earned five Inc. 500/5000 listings and a Red Herring Top 100 recognition, and Todd exited the business in 2018.

Todd is the author of The Intelligent Dealership, a #1 best-seller in Automotive. He publishes research at toddsmith.ai, including Every Job in the Dealership, which models AI's task-level impact on all 20 positions in a franchised rooftop. He also serves as Managing Director of Kyzor, where he invests in and advises emerging automotive technology companies. He has worked closely with Toyota, Mazda, AutoNation and General Motors, and speaks at NADA, Digital Dealer, MRAA, STAR Standards, CXAuto, state dealer associations and NCM 20 Groups.
